I was born Ngozi Adeyemi Ware in the Bronx, New York but I’ve lived in the Bahamas ever since my mom married a Bahamian, Eric Patrick Cash.
My name is difficult for most to pronounce (Ngozi, as you would say Inga & Rosie=ING-go-zee) so everyone just calls me Guzzy as in “Guzzy Wuzzy was a bear….Guzzy Wuzzy has fuzzy hair.” I do have fuzzy hair.
I’m one of many Americans living in the Bahamas without status and that just makes life impossible. It’s different for each person but for me…I can’t work, can’t get married, can’t travel, cant get a bank account…can’t work….can’t get a job…..
So according to my lawyer from United Stateless, it’s a big problem not just in the Bahamas but in the region. I tried to go on radio but they put me on hold so I’m turning to social media. If you know anyone in a stateless way…contact me ASAP as we are trying to gather as many stats as possible.
In the meantime, I’m trying to get my passport. I went to the U.S. Embassy with my brother but he neglected to bring his birth certificate. So now I have to wait for him to go to NY to get it (he lives and works in Philadelphia) and while he promises to go before Christmas its already been more than a week and I don’t know if I can hold on that long.
See, because my friends and family in the States had been planning this embassy appointment for three months (affidavits, fundraising for his flight) and I ended up putting all my eggs in this basket. I was supposed to get my passport on the 10th of December but now I’m just hanging in the wind….I’m left with no money….no passport….no job….very little food.
I need help.
This is an S.O.S.
While I would appreciate a DONATION just to tide me over till the end of the month…I would much prefer a JOB. Email me HERE.
I am a web designer and eCommerce technician by trade and if you need a website or online shop I’m your girl.
I start by building you a really great WordPress website on HostArmada. You get your own domain name from NameCheap.
If you are in the Bahamas I would set you up with Fygaro.
Maybe you have a website but you’d like to get setup on a booking platform like TripAdvisor, Viator, GetYouGuide, GetMyBoat, Sailo…the list goes on.
If you are in the States I can set up with Stripe.
I’d love to consult with you about what you need business wise and how fast you need it. But please help me get over this hump.
If you are an American stuck in a similar situation or know someone who is, contact us ASAP.
